Nearly 25,000 Experiencing Power in South-East Queensland and Victorian Regions Following Severe Storms
Around twenty-five thousand residences in southeastern Queensland found themselves without power on Monday's dawn after powerful weather events passed over the area, bringing strong winds reaching 109km/h.
Substantial Ice Stones and Extensive Destruction
Homeowners reported large ice chunks measuring up to 7 centimeters in particular locations. The Bureau of Meteorology announced that various areas across the state had been impacted by significant hail.

Response teams were attempting to repair power throughout the impacted areas, with nearly 70 crews working to address the extensive power failures.
Southern State's Weather Woes
Simultaneously, approximately 1,000 households in Victoria also experienced electricity disruptions after the metropolitan area experienced its most precipitation in 18 months.
Rescue organizations responded to nearly 600 calls for help across the region, mostly for structural issues but also for collapsed vegetation and flooding.

During the peak on Sunday, in excess of 28,000 energy customers in the state were without power.
Climate Outlook
Humid circumstances were predicted to continue along much of the state's eastern regions this week as a low-pressure trough continued to pull in damp air against the coast.
Tuesday was expected to become the wettest day, with continued severe weather risk anticipated across different parts of both states.
Safety Concern
Health officials alerted that there was an increased chance of epidemic thunderstorm asthma across the northern rural areas, especially given the ongoing climate situation.
This warning comes after previous incidents where similar conditions led to substantial respiratory problems in the region.
